Boxing day is one of the craziest shopping days of the year. Some have made waiting in the cold for the best deal around an annual ritual. That holds true in our little niche as well. We decided to help the bargain hunters out this year, so we'll highlight some of the biggest and best boxing day sales Toronto streetwear shops will be having this year.
Si Vous Play Sports
SVP will be having a Boxing Week Blowout sale from the 26th to the 28th of December at all SVP locations. There will be an additional 20% taken off from all items in the store. However, this will not apply to shoes under $30 and clothing/accessories under $10.
Stolen Riches
Stolen Riches' Boxing Day sale will last from 8 A.M. to 8 P.M., with everything in the store up to 80% off with no exclusions. And knowing STR, they have a pretty solid lineup of shoes and clothing available.
Adrift Skateshop
The Boxing Day Sale at Adrift will consist of 10-70% off everything in the store. They start the madness at 9 A.M. If you can't make it down tomorrow, they will be holding the sale for a whole week.
Livestock
It just wouldn't be Boxing Day without a Boxing Day Sale at Livestock. This year, LS will have upto 75% off everything in the store. They will open at 9 A.M. on the 26th, until 8 P.M. Like Adrift, they will holding the sale until the 31st of December.
Goodfoot/Ransom/Stussy
The United Front Boxing Day Sale is probably the biggest in Toronto every year. This year will not be an exception. The Goodfoot Richmond and Yorkville stores ONLY will be open; St. Clair will be closed. It will be a one day sale only. 30% off the first pair; buy 2, receive 40% off. Clothing and accessories 40-70% off. Goodfoot locations will open at 9 A.M. As for Ransom and Stussy, there will be 40% off everything in the store, with other deals to be had. They too will open at 9 A.M., so be ready for a huge lineup and thus long wait.
C-apsule
C-apsule in Yorkville will also be holding a Boxing Day Sale on the 26th. Their Boxing Day sale is quite the deal. Essentally, for however many items of clothing you but, you get that many of pieces of clothing free. Buy 3 get 3 free, buy 16 free, get 16 free. That's for clothing only. For shoes, buy 2 get 1 free. Their regular opening hours apply.
Format Magazine
Format magazine will be holding a warehose sale where you can get up to 75% off the following brands: 10 Deep, Acapulco Gold, Addict, Freshjive, Hellz Bellz, LRG, Married to the Mob, Mishka, and NVSBL Tailors.Format will also have a "Nothing Over $5 Section" too. Again, it will be held Boxing Day, December 26/27, 10am-7pm at 292 College @ Spadina and remember cash only!

First Annual Lounge Hoody Drive, Nov. 21st to 22nd.
With the cold weather fast approaching, many of us have purchased new hoodies from our favourite designers to keep us warm, yet stylish. The old ones we have get buried deep into the depths of our closets, forgotten. The Lounge at 155 John St. is urging people to dig out those gently worn hoodies and sweaters and to bring them down to the shop for their first annual Hoody Drive.
The Lounge will be donating the garments collected to the Scott Mission, located on Spadina Avenue. For those unfamiliar with the Scott Mission, and its contribution to the local community and to the city as a whole, I urge you to please visit their website to learn more.
The Lounge is looking for gently worn sweaters and hoodies in particular, but will be glad to take any other garments you have to offer (socks, jackets, toques, thermal pants, gloves, etc). It doesn't matter the style of cut, as they will accept men's, woman's, and children's clothing. Even if you may not have anything to give, ask around to your family. They may have something they no longer want and would be happy to donate.
With the global economic crisis just getting under way, many more people this year will find it difficult to heat their homes, and provide food for their families much less shop for new clothes to combat the lower temperatures and adverse weather conditions. Not to mention the growing number of homeless of all ages on Toronto's streets.
It's a great opportunity for a small niche of Toronto's larger urban culture to come together and help those less fortunate. So just take a few minutes to search your closets or pile of clothing in the corner of your room and head down to Lounge on November 21st or 22nd during store hours of 11 A.M. to 7 P.M. and drop your donations off. The Lounge fam. and more importantly, the Scott Mission are truly grateful.

FORT Apparel F/W '08
Local up and coming brand FORT Apparel has released their F/W '08 line. In it is the introduction of the "Shadow" crewneck as well as a return of FORT's well received "Four One Six" design in a multitude of new colourways.
Other additions to their F/W line include an improved garment tag as well as tweaked sizing for the ladies. An all around solid release, so keep an eye out for FORT as they continue to grow.
For those interested, FORT is now taking pre-orders for the F/W line. To make things interesting they promise that those who do pre-order will see their gear in their hands before it even lands on store shelves. You can pre-order your gear through FORT's online shop. For those willing to wait, FORT Apparel stockist The Lounge (John 155) will have it available on November 28.

Second Shipment of Supreme & Sale @ Nomad
This Saturday, Nomad will be releasing their second shipment of Supreme goodies which you can expect to be as large as the first. Box caps are said to make a return, as well as the rest of the fitteds in the line. Cold weather gear in the form of sweaters, hoodies, and jackets are also set to make an appearance. Judging from the line-up at the last drop, you better get your camping gear out, this might be your final chance to grab some Supreme in Toronto.

Livestock x Hundreds x éS "Boarder Control"
The three-way collabo of Toronto's own Livestock, L.A. based The Hundreds and technical footwear brand éS are bringing us a duo of hot sneakers. To be released this Saturday, the 18th at all Livestock locations, this sneaker pack is named "Boarder Control", from the idea that "our countries [are] locking shit down and making it really hard for people from different places to work together".
Despite the difficulties the trio may have faced, they have pulled of a very nice package with the Livestock Theory silhouette, and the Hundreds Sqaure One model. This aesthetically pleasing pack can also be had for a wallet pleasing price of $155.
The Hundreds has also produced a tee to compliment the pack, which can also be purchased at Livestock.

Supreme @ Nomad
If you're a fan of iconic skate brand Supreme, you'd be interested to know that Nomad will be dropping the Supreme fall/winter collection this Saturday, the 27th.
Word is that Nomad will be receiving everything that's currently listed on Supreme's online shop. If true, that's good news as past Supreme drops at Nomad have been spotty, with only a portion of what dropped in NY and LA.
Veterans know what to expect. If you're not, it would be in your best interest to get to bed early the night before and line your ass up mad early.

Livestock x Reigning Champ x Adidas
One thing is for certain, Livestock has been pretty busy collaborating with fellow Vancouver native Reigning Champ. Adding to the Totem Zip Hoody, Livestock and Reigning Champ present to us a rice mesh thermal henley and a heavy weight zip hoody. Both classic pieces in their own right, Livestock decided to incorporate their new ZX450 into the mix. The removable velcro name tag found on the tongue of the Livestock ZX450 can be placed on both the henly and hoody via loop patches sewn onto the garments...
Furthurmore, Livestock and Reigning Champ continue incorporating the sneaker into the apparel by placing the military style garment tag onto the front of both pieces.
This is an interesting intermingling of apparel and footwear that Livestock, Reigning Champ and Adidas have brought us, and we hope other brands build on this concept.
And just in case your weekend isn't crazy enough, Livestock will be hosting a launch party at their shop, here in Toronto on Saturday. It will be bumping from 8 - 11 in the evening, and there will be free drinks courtesy of Amsterdam Beer.

Adidas AZ-X Program Round #2
This Saturday, the second round of the Adidas AZ-X Program will hit Toronto shops. Both Livestock and Goodfoot (Richmond & Yorkville) will be receiving the Neighborhood ZX700 and the Patta ZX7000 in limited quantities. However, Livestock will be the only place to get the Major ZX600, Just Be ZX500, Kendo ZX800 (for the ladies of course) and their own ZX450.

Livestock x Reigning Champ
Hot off the heels of their annual block party in Vancouver, Livestock is again celebrating their West coast origins with their recent collaboration with garment maker Reigning Champ.
For Reigning Champ, the hoodie is a step away from their usual simple, clean aesthetic incorporating the Aboriginal inspired print on the hood and Livestock patch near the pocket. The addition of the red/black Riri zipper is a nice touch. Furthermore, the piece will be available in two versions with the variation being a coloured hood print or a tonal print. All-in-all, a strong piece to add to Livestock's growing portfolio of collaborations.

The North Face Sample Sale
For all those who still haven't found the perfect winter jacket, The North Face will be holding a sample sale this week. The company synonymous with quality outerwear will be holding the sale at 21 Vaughan Road (Bathurst and St. Clair), and will run it from the 4th to the 7th of September.

John Varvatos x Converse's "Get Chucked" Fall 2008 Launch Party
Alongside the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) festivities, Holt Renfrew, Canada's premier retailer of high end fashion will play host to the launch of the John Varvatos x Converse collaborative project "Get Chucked".
The party will be held at Holt's flagship store on 50 Bloor Street W. with mens magazine GQ as a sponsor to the event.
Since this party will be taking place during the TIFF, you can expect a bevy of celebrities to make an appearance. Last year's notables included Sienna Miller, K-Os, and Karen O of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

United Front Grows Another 'Foot *Updated*
The United Front headed by Matt George, has just opened a third Goodfoot sneaker boutique in Toronto. This time in the Winona and St. Clair West area. Some of you may be scratching your heads as to why Matt would open a GDFT there. Rest assured there is method to this madness.
The St. Clair location will carry similar stock as the Yorkville location minus Visvim. Currently, it is stocked with some of the newer shoe releases but expect the inventory to fill out in the coming weeks.

Si Vous Play Sports Warehouse Outlet Opening
SVP Sports, the company behind Da Zone and The Vault, brings some love to the East end of Toronto today. Originally scheduled to open later in the year, SVP has debut their newest warehouse outlet inside the Woodside Square Mall (Finch and McCowan) in Scarborough. Like the other stores and outlets under SVP, it will house a gamut of clothing, sports accessories, and of course footwear from the Jordan Brand, Nike, Converse, Vans, Puma, and others.
